FORGET ME NOT

"For I was hungry, and you fed me... I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home... I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison and you visited me."

Prison Ministry

Prison ministry is a very important part of what RRF Bedford does. In this you can witness Jesus's love and his ultimate forgiveness. We recognise that Jesus showed us in the Bible that we all have sin, and that his forgiveness belongs to anyone that wishes to accept it. In the prison we provide services where we preach to members of up to 100 inmates and also provide one to one biblical counselling and mentoring. The message of the Gospel and hope belongs to everyone.

Homeless Outreach

Meeting the need of someone without expecting a return is part of God's love. He gave freely without the expectation that we could give anything in return that could come close to comparing, when he gave his only Son. Homelessness does exist in Bedford and we see a duty in our walk with Christ to express his love freely to others. A team of volunteers in the church go out in the town of Bedford to hand out care packages to those in need. These care packages consist of the following:

  • Camping backpack

  • Water

  • Long lasting food (corned beef, crackers etc)

  • Hygiene products

  • Seasonal clothing (thermals for winter etc)

We also lend ourselves to just be someone to talk to as being in that position can cause loneliness.

Nursing Home Visits

In some ways the elderly can often be forgotten. God remembers all and so we at RRF Bedford visit a local nursing home where we sing uplifting songs and share a cup of tea and a biscuit.

We aim to bring comfort to the residents, and they in turn uplift us with their joyful character and matchless wit!
